Who's Next?
MY TOUGHEST MATCH
is not in the ring. It's at the dinner table and it's at fast food restaurants.
It's hearing about the party I can Never go to.
It's realizing being a Great Wrestler isn't a sport, - It's a LIFE!
---Stephen Neal 3x NCAA Champion & 1999 World Champion
Accountability
This is up to me.
It's my weight class.
My opponent
My battle.
I know what's expected of me.
My Best.
Because behind me,.........is my team!
The Top 10 Wrestlers in every statistical category since the 1989-90 Season
Quick to learn, Our statisticians
Promote spirit and pride!
Our Statisticians can always be found encouraging the wrestlers onto victory
and their services are greatly appreciated! Please take a minute and read about what we
do below.
Complete accuracy is required and a statistician must be confident in her performance in case a discrepancy in the score occurs. Professional and highly qualified, our statisticians are well respected wherever we compete, including Assembly Hall. The ability to keep an accurate official scorebook is not just one of the most important tasks of a statistician; but also the #1 asset of every successful coach. We were very fortunate to have the BEST group of ladies in the State last year!
Addie, Emma, & Abbie all work hard and their diligence is appreciated by all the wrestlers, coaches, fans, and officials. The responsibilities of a statistician sometimes seem never ending. In addition to keeping the book, our ladies can also be found working in the concession stand, selling T-shirts, and setting up the gym for meets & tournaments. Good sportsmanship, leadership, adaptability, and a willingness to cooperate are all among the qualities of this year's group of statisticians! When you have a chance, be sure to thank our statisticians for all that they do. Click on the link below to visit their web site.

"Champions aren't made in gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them - a Desire, a Dream, and a Vision. They have to have last minute stamina, they have to be a little faster, they have to have the Skill and the Will. But the Will must be stronger than the Skill."

Welcome to our Wrestling Website! Please visit often as we'll keep this site updated regularly throughout the season. We just wrapped up our season: advancing 4 wrestlers to the IHSA State Tournament in Champaign. Congratulations to all four wrestlers! Darren Stephens (120), Gage Stephens (138), Jalen Beebe (182), and Jeffrey Haley (195). The last time QND qualified 4 wrestlers to the State Tournament was back in 1981 when Coach Marc Hummel did it after winning his 2nd of 3 Regional Titles as Coach of the Raiders! 1981 - IHSA State Qualifiers - Pat Lane, Joe Olen, Bill Schmelze, & Brian Willis
We really appreciate all the fans that have come out to support us throughout the year. It makes a huge difference and we cannot thank you all enough!
On May 12th, we will be hosting a Cup Stacking Tournament which is open to kids and adults of any age. If you've never seen such an event I'd encourage you to come and watch, ... even participate in it! It is the most kid friendly event/tournament you'll ever see. Your experience really doesn't matter --- its a lot of FUN!!!
Please contact me if you have any questions.
We have a lot going on in the off-season. Two Clinics, an Open, a Alumni BBQ, a Team Trip, & More. Every other year, the team goes on some kind of trip. Last July 12-17th we embarked on our team trip up to Mackinac Island. We spent the week touring forts, historical parks, museums, camping, & swimming. Went on a Hydroplane Boat out to the Island, biked around it, and swam on 6 different beaches.
This year, we decided to Host a BBQ/Cookout for all. We welcomed back Alumni, current families, and the incoming class. Our Alumni Summer Picnic is always Success!. Please get your calendars out and mark next years' Picnic @ the park as we'll set that date shortly after the season! I'll send out flyers and a newsletter with more details.
However, I Need Your Help! We're still trying to update our contact list of everyone that either wrestled, coached, managed, or assisted with the QND/Christian Brothers Wrestling Program. What we'd like to do is to send our Alumni copies (every year) of both our schedule and newsletter; keeping everyone up to date with information on the upcoming season. To receive this information in the mail each year please e-mail your contact information back to us.
